What Sacrifice Really Feels Like When You Believe in the Vision

Yaman Jindal /

I lost friends. I missed weddings. I skipped birthdays.

Not because I didn’t care. But because I was building something nobody believed in yet.

More NO than YES

In my early days as an entrepreneur, I said no more than I said yes.

  • No to late-night outings.
  • No to sitting back at home for a day off.
  • No to “just relax, it’ll work out.”

People called me obsessed. I called it committed.

The part no one talks about

The hardest part wasn’t the 18-hour days. It was sitting at family dinners — physically present, mentally elsewhere.

But here’s what no one tells you about sacrifice: it doesn’t feel like sacrifice when you believe in your vision. It feels like a choice.

If you’re in that season right now — head down, misunderstood, exhausted — you’re not alone. Keep going.
